Walking Forward Together

I was recently in a conversation in which I found myself saying: “It seems like every area of my life is in flux.” This statement resonated with others in the conversation. Perhaps you find yourself in that space as well. Our world is shifting and changing very quickly, and this is inviting us to think more creatively, explore new ideas, and re-envision ourselves for these times.

This became quite clear when the Unity Canada board met for their Annual Intention Meeting (AIM) in June. The most important strategic priority that arose from our time together was: Re-Envisioning Unity Canada for Our Changing Cultural Context.

As you are aware, last November UWM’s (Unity Worldwide Ministries) conference body voted to approve a coming together with UWH (Unity World Headquarters). The Unity movement is now served by one organization with UC&L (Unity Communities and Leaders) serving as a department within UWH.

There has been excitement about this merger, as well as uncertainty and confusion. In fact, I was at a gathering recently in which Shara Mosinka, UC&L’s Executive Director stated that they didn’t know what they were doing – they were building the plane as they flew it. She also expressed a profound belief that we would look back in three years, and being amazed with what had been created.

The creative process tends to be messy, and it may cause us to want to go back to what is familiar. But the creative force of the Universe is constantly calling us forward, inviting us to evolve and grow and give deeper expression to our Divine Nature.

The Unity movement’s journey forward is calling all of us to new horizons. This is why Unity Canada is prioritizing revisioning. We are being invited to reconsider what ministry looks like in today’s world, how we can most effectively interface with the global Unity movement, and how we best serve the Unity movement in Canada.
