Talking to Your Liver and Other Radical Acts of Love

The first time I heard Myrtle Fillmore talked to her liver, I thought, “Now that’s a conversation worth having.”

Myrtle, co-founder of Unity, didn’t just “believe” in healing—she embodied it. Diagnosed with tuberculosis in her 40s, she chose a new story: “As a child of God, I cannot inherit sickness.” That wasn’t just a nice affirmation on a mug. It was her reality shift. And the coolest part? She didn’t wait for someone else to fix her. She started talking to her body. She apologized to her stomach, blessed her eyes, and encouraged her heart like a rockstar coaching their band back into rhythm.

You and I—we’ve got that same healing spark. But the first step? Notice. Notice the story you’re telling yourself about your health, your relationships, your past. Notice who you’re listening to and whether their voice is tuning your life into harmony or noise.

In Unity, we don’t say “pretend everything’s fine.” We say: get honest, get real, and then get spiritual. Want to heal? Start by getting curious. Start talking to your body like it’s your teammate, not your enemy. Speak life into those old aches. Whisper compassion to that sore back. And maybe—just maybe—stop calling it a “bum knee” every other sentence 😅

We are all healers. That doesn’t mean we’re all miracle workers—it means we are participants in our healing. It means we can say no to gossip, yes to gratitude, and heck yeah to the higher path. The narrow path. The one that often feels awkward or hard or scary at first… because it’s new, and it’s true.

And here’s the kicker: it only takes one. One person in the household, the family, the community—standing in Truth and inviting in the Light. That One can change everything. 🌟

You’ve got that power. So grab the handlebars, rev up your spirit, and remember: health and holiness come from the same root. And both are within you, right now.

✨ Rock on. Ride free. Love loud. ✨
