Education Reimbursement Program (ERP)
Rationale: The Education Reimbursement Program (ERP) is aligned with one of Unity Canada’s three Mission pillars: education support. It is designed to increase the number of participants taking Spiritual Education and Enrichment (SEE) courses for credit, thereby potentially increasing the pool of Canadian Unity credentialed leaders in the future. Those beginning to learn about Unity teachings may not be aware of the potential value of taking classes for credit, nor consider becoming a Unity credentialed leader. By subsidizing SEE course credit fees, students will be able to take classes for credit (at no extra cost) and not be discouraged by having to re-take classes if they decide at a future date to pursue a credentialed licensing path.
Criteria: The ERP provides reimbursement to ministries who pay the $45 registration fee for those in their ministry who are taking Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute (UWSI) SEE courses offered exclusively in Canada, including Zoom video conference SEE courses now being offered by Unity Canada. On-line SEE credit classes offered elsewhere than Canada do not qualify.
Amount: The total amount available for this program is $5000 until March 31, 2020. The ERP allows up to a maximum of $500 per ministry.
Term: The ERP is available for classes taken from July 1st, 2019 to March 31st, 2020.
As a proactive planning and assessment tool, we are providing an Education Reimbursement -Intent to Participate Form with the request that Ministries submit it throughout the term of the program.
Steps for participating in the ERP:
Step 1: Ministries announce this education opportunity to their membership
Step 2: Ministries gauge interest in program participation from membership
Step 3: (optional) Once a general idea is known about who will participate and when, a ministry submits an Education Reimbursement Program - Intent to Participate Form. This is simply a plan for your ministry and allows Unity Canada to get a sense of how many individuals might be participating and how much of the fund will potentially be used by March 31, 2020.
Step 4: Participants attend and complete qualifying SEE courses. Ministries pay Unity Canada the $45 registration fee for the student to receive SEE credits for the course.
Step 5: Ministry submits the Education Reimbursement Program - Request for Reimbursement Form.
Step 5: Unity Canada will issue request reimbursements twice during this 9 month test program: The week of Nov.22, 2019 and Apr.7, 2020.
