Unity Church of Mississauga Welcomes Rev Dale Blackford

Rev. Dale Blackford has been hired as Permanent Minister of Unity Church of Mississauga. We congratulate you both and hold you in prayer as you begin this new journey together.

Unity School Canada

Unity School Canada is no longer doing record keeping for Unity credit courses. We will allow for phase out of this function through March 31, 2008. This service is duplicated by Unity Institute, and therefore not necessary. Discontinuing this process will reduce the cost of taking credit classes from $35 to $25 per class. To assist with this transition, Vicki Vanderhorst will prepare a document to assist teachers and students in working with Unity Institute.

Unity School Canada retains the authority to conduct intensives and credentialing of LUT’s and ministers if we so choose.

Canadian Conference 2008

The AUCC Conference is coming up quickly and information will soon be sent out. This year’s conference will take place August 21-26 2008 in Edmonton. Gary Simmons, Director of Peacemaking Services for AUC International is our guest presenter. His topic is Integral Leadership and Church Growth. More extensive information will be mailed out shortly.

Association of Unity Churches International

The Association of Unity Churches International has a new strategic plan with exciting possibilities for Unity churches and the Unity movement as a whole. Their strategic intentions and objectives are as follows:

Strategic Intent #1: We are the fastest-growing transformational spiritual movement in the world.

Strategic Objective #1: Thriving churches and centres

Strategic Objective #2: Enlightened leaders (credentialed and lay leaders) who are mission-focused and who develop other leaders and support people in fulfilling their spiritual potential

Strategic Objective #3: Visionary spiritual education, development and support of people of all ages

Strategic Objective #4: Thriving new churches and centres

Strategic Intent #2: We are a major player in bringing forth “a new heaven and a new earth.”
